PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Our customized Prepare Leadership Seminar will help participants build communication and personal leadership skills which in turn help to foster a healthy and supportive work environment.

Participants and employers are often amazed by the positive effects that a course like ours can have on the office environment. Although the physical safety skills are often the highlight of our program, our classes cover more than just how to stay safe or how to intervene in a confrontation. Participants tell us they feel more confident, relaxed, and prepared to handle challenges and stress more effectively. Our graduates often report that they bring the same feeling of safety, empowerment, and communication skills from their Prepare training into their daily personal and professional lives.

The training method is cutting edge, innovative, and highly interactive. Since the human response to fear, crisis, challenge or stress is a rush of adrenaline, we teach using real life scenarios that allow staff to feel what it is like to experience the adrenaline state. This is what makes our training more realistic and more practical. Learning how to listen carefully, think clearly, problem-solve, and give direction under high levels of stress is much more difficult while in this adrenaline state. We help participants recognize how to apply these skills in work situations and in their daily lives.

Some of the positive effects of Prepare Leadership training for employees include:

"Nordstrom Loss Prevention has been using IMPACT Prepare and Advanced Prepare workshops as part of its training program in Southern California since 1995. The life skills taught in the workshops are not only applicable on the job, but in everyday life as well. All attendees volunteer to take the workshop and it has quickly become the most requested and popular workshop. The feedback on the effective and extremely applicable skills learned has been tremendous. Women report increased confidence, and feel safer in every aspect of their lives. Men appreciate the verbal and negotiating skills that they learn. Most recently we have expanded the workshops to include employees from all areas of Nordstrom and the response has been overwhelming. The value of the gift of safety and well-being to employees is immeasurable."
